KSP-24: The Finnish cycling club that isn’t afraid of mud or white kits

KSP-24 is a cycling club based in Finland. It was founded on the idea that no one should ever have to ride alone again and that cycling should be a fun and playful activity. KSP-24 isn’t just a club. It’s a community where group rides, shared experiences and a supportive atmosphere are just as important as results.

They describe themselves with one word: joy. This attitude is reflected in their training, their racing and their boldly unique club kits. We are happy that a club like KSP-24 chose to create their kit with us and is ready to share their story with everyone for whom cycling is more than just a sport.

How would you describe KSP-24 to someone who hasn’t heard of your club before?

First off, KSP-24 is more than just a club. It was founded on the idea of never having to ride alone again and simply having fun “playing bikes.” You could call it a community. Alongside that, we are a member club of the Finnish Cycling Association, which means our members can represent our beautiful colors in officially licensed races as well.

What is the one word or idea that best captures the spirit of KSP-24?

Joy.

How big is KSP-24, and are all your members adult riders?

We are currently around 70 members strong. For now, we are mostly adults, with one exceptional young member who is starting his first season as a junior in the Netherlands.

What does cycling in Finland look like for KSP-24? Do you spend more time on forest trails, roads, gravel or a bit of everything?

KSP-24 members do a bit of everything. As a club, our riding revolves mainly around dropbar disciplines, but we also have national medals in downhill and enduro, as well as riders who do freestyle BMX. 99% of our group rides are done year-round on dropbar bikes. It’s worth remembering that we are actually a designated cyclocross club!

Your kit has a bold and eye-catching design. Where did the idea for that look come from?

Honestly, the biggest inspiration was seeing Mathieu van der Poel racing cyclocross in his all-white World Champion’s kit. The idea of riding through mud in white skinsuits was both very stupid and very fun. Don’t get us wrong, we don’t compare ourselves to MvdP, but standing out with bright colors feels like a superpower.

Riding should be fun and it should look like that as well. Other inspirations came from old-school cartoons, 90s graphics, and legendary teams like Mapei who had bright, bold kits. Plus, we think it’s really cool to wear hand-drawn designs in this age of AI-generated everything.

How did you first discover moomoo and what made you decide to work with us?

We first noticed you when we saw the Finnish national team wearing your kit. We did some research and your whole operation seemed very professional: quality products, fair pricing, European production, and a company with warm, easygoing customer service. Working with moomoo feels like you truly listen to our needs and are willing to put in the effort to bring our ideas to life.

Was there anything that surprised you during the ordering process?

There were no real surprises, which is a good thing! Working with your designers and sharing ideas was actually surprisingly smooth and easy.

Would you recommend Estonians, or international riders in general, come and ride in Finland?

Absolutely! Finland is a killer destination for gravel cycling and long bikepacking trips. There are also some really intriguing major events on the Finnish cycling calendar.

If you only have a weekend to spend and want to explore the capital, check out our Instagram @ksp24club or shoot us a DM. We arrange bi-weekly underground criterium races on an abandoned airstrip during the summer, and in the fall, we have an active underground cyclocross scene around the Helsinki region. Plus, our year-round Tuesday social rides are always open to everyone!

Is there one message or thought you would like to share with other cyclists?

Ride hard, but don’t take things too seriously. Even Pogačar doesn’t and look where it’s taken him! 😊
